Repair of Leather Seats with Leather Repair Cream

Leather repair cream is a product that allows you to restore the damaged surface of leather seats and other leather goods. This product is applied to the damaged surface with a cotton cloth or sponge, and after drying, it forms a new elastic and flexible layer.

Leather repair cream is a product that should be used if there are scuffs, shallow cracks, or scratches on the surface of leather seats. Provided they are treated with this product and the mandatory subsequent care of the leather with MAVI STEP nourishing products, the risk of damage in the future is minimised.

MAVI STEP produces leather repair cream exclusively from safe, non-toxic components. That is why you can use this product to repair and restore seats, even if you transport children or animals in the car.

How to Repair and Restore a Leather Seat with Leather Repair Cream

  1. Clean the leather seat. Firstly, remove surface contaminants such as dust or dried dirt from the leather. To do this, we recommend using the MAVI STEP Reagan or MAVI STEP Alexandra brush. These handy tools have two working zones. The first brush zone is wide and less rigid. It is used for cleaning the main part of the leather item. The second brush zone is narrow and more rigid. It is used for cleaning seams and other hard-to-reach places.Repair of Leather Seats with Leather Repair Cream
  2. Performs deep cleaning of the seat leather. Since the brush can only remove the dirt that is on the surface of the leather seat, it is also important to clean the leather at the level of its fibres. This will ensure the best adhesion of the leather repair cream to the damaged leather surface of the seat.
For cleaning car seats covered with genuine leather, we recommend using MAVI STEP Total Cleaner. This concentrated product, in addition to deep cleaning the leather, moisturises it and protects it from destruction.
To clean the car seat from dirt, dilute MAVI STEP Total Cleaner with water in a ratio of 1:6. Then moisten a sponge with the solution and clean the leather. If there are stains or very deep dirt on the seat, make the MAVI STEP Total Cleaner solution more concentrated or even use it pure to remove these dirt.
Attention! Before using MAVI STEP Total Cleaner for cleaning leather seats, always test it on a hidden area of the item.
  3. Polish the seat with a brush. It is important to perform this step after the leather cleaned with MAVI STEP Total Cleaner is completely dry.
  4. Repair the damaged surface of the car seat. To eliminate surface damage on leather goods, we recommend using MAVI STEP Leather Repair Cream. This creamy product, after drying, forms a new layer, which, in its qualities, is not much different from the surface layer of leather. This product can also be used as a dye to restore faded areas of leather.Repair of Leather Seats with Leather Repair Cream

We recommend using a MAVI STEP Dye Applicator Sponge to apply MAVI STEP Leather Repair Cream. Unlike, for example, a kitchen sponge, this professional accessory has a fine-porous structure. Due to this, the use of this particular sponge results in the least consumption of the product.
Take a small amount of leather repair cream with MAVI STEP Dye Applicator Sponge and treat the damaged area of the leather seat with it. We recommend applying the product with slow and gentle movements, similar to the movements when applying a regular shoe cream or shoe polish. For the best quality of seat restoration, we also recommend alternating one-sided and immersive movements.

Note No. 1. For better adhesion, after cleaning the item with a brush, mattify its surface with a MAVI STEP Abrasive Sponge.

Note No. 2. If the leather seat has not been properly cared for before, 24 hours before applying the leather repair cream, treat the product with MAVI STEP Cream Softener. This product nourishes, moisturises and softens the leather, as well as “stitches” its fibres at the structural level. This helps to minimise the risk of material destruction under the influence of mechanical loads in the future.
